Add an Extension Template Record

When adding an extension's Plugin onto a page, it is often helpful to create an Extension Template Record to the page. This facilitates easy access to the extension's template, plus allows additional TypoScript and Constant Editor flexibility when an extension is applied to multiple pages.

1. To add an Extension Template record, begin by using the List Module and select the page on which you want to install the Extension Template Record. (This page is typically the one where you will place an extension's plugin.)
2. Use the Template Module to install an Extension Template record.
   Click on the: Click here to create an extension template button.
3. When the warning box asks you if you really want to do this, click Yes.
4. It is good practice to give your new Extension Template record a name. To do so, click on the Edit Icon to the left of the Title label, add your title, and click the Update Button.
5. Your Extension Template record is available immediately and you can chage settings using the Constant Editor, add static templates, or add TypoScript to the Constants or Setup fields as needed.
