Add a Static Template

For Version: TYPO3 4.0.4

Many extensions use Static Templates. A Static Template determines how the plugin is displayed in the Frontend. If you've added a new plugin and it doesn't look like you expected when you view it in the Frontend, you may want to first check to see if you've forgotten to add the extension's Static Template.

  1. To add a static template to the root template, click on the Template Module.
  2. Select the root page of the website. (In some cases, the extension may have an extension template that is independent of the root page's template. In this case, select the page that contains the Extension Template.)
  3. Ensure the Info/Modify form is selected from the Template Tools drop-down menu (located on the far top-right).
  4. Click on the "Click here to edit the whoe template record" link.
  5. Scroll down the page to the "Include static (from extension)" field.
  6. Scroll through the Items menu to select the needed Static Template and select it (single click the item).
  7. Scroll back to the top (or bottom) of the form and save the template record.
  8. The changes you made will be visible immediately on any effected webpages.
