How can i realize a random output of only a part of my staff members (would be 4) in the frontend ... i'm using TYPO3 4.1.5 with templavoila... does anyone knows an extension that would be helpfull to solve these problem ?

Hi Rene,

It sounds like you want to display randomly different staff on a page? If so, that would have to be added to part of the extension, or would have to be a custom extension that used the Staff Directory info.

Why are you looking to do this? I am wondering the reason and see if it can be made general purpose. And then find if others would like something like this to consider including it in the extension.

sorry for my bad english...

that's exactly what i want do do - i have a whole stafflist (about 30 persons) and would show only 4 (randomly)...
the reason is, that i want to have a teaserpage for the staff.
(like "Here you can see a part of our staff - if you like to see more ...")

I've tried it with the random extension jh_random_records (i used it often teasering content of pages) but i dont know how it is possible to display the staffdirectory records with this extension...

I can look at adding this functionality to the next version of Staff Directory. That is likely 1-2 months away though.

This seems like a really unusual capability for a staff directory. Maybe you could do some sort of variation of random photos that is independent of the staff extension.
