Subject: Front Page (Current) Display
I have just updated the SMS to the latest version and I would like to take advantage of the Current flag to display in Brief format the upcoming message for the next sunday on the front page.

I have added an instance of SMS to the front page and selected Brief Layout, and Current under What to Display. I have pointed it to my Sermons Sysfolder.

My most current sermon which is entered for next sunday is flagged as current and all details have been entered.

For some reason on the front page, this shows nothing on the front page except for:

a blank space and the "Sermon Multimedia:" heading. I am not seeing any details of the sermon at all. I have tried the others, like Verbose. and Verbose oddly enough gives me links to all of the resources that I have listed as Sermon Multimedia, such as all our sermon mp3's.

Help! This just doesnt seem like its working like it should be. I'd be happy to allow admin access to our BE if needed.

Thanks so much in advance.

Jason,
Just a shot in the dark here until the real pro (Brian) is able to get to your question

Did you add the static templates for wec_sermons on your home page? See http://webempoweredchurch.com/extensions/sermons_management_system/sms_user_s_guide/page/8/ for an example.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the response, Jeff. Yes I have configured the static templates properly according to the directions.

Jason,
Just wanted to let you know that after a little testing, I can duplicate this problem. Either there's a bug or we're both doing the same thing wrong

I'll try to look some more when I get the chance, but otherwise we may have to wait on Brian. I think he's out for a couple days.

Thanks,
Jeff

I've been having some similar problems. Is your sermon record set to a future date? I found that if I had sermon records set to a future date they don't show up until that date. Try changing the date to today to see if it shows up.

This doesnt seem to do anything for me. I switched the record marked current to todays date and it still shows up on the front page wrong.

I just get a blank with Sermon Multimedia and the link to the mp3 resource I have attached. Doesnt show the title, series, speaker or synopsis.

Thanks for looking into this everyone.

I would just like to add that I have the same issue on my site and would really like to be able to make use of this feature.

All,

After having some time to focus on this, I believe I found the root but and will produce a maintenance release shortly.

Also Andre, through working on another site I found the bug you have with dates and sermons showing up. That will also be corrected in this next release.

I'll post again when this is released to TER, hopefully today or early next week.

Thanks all!
