Several questions...setting up a new function for the Connector

1) Using Categories: Is there a way for user(s) to designate what category their post should be under?
2) I have set up a test page w/ categories; however when I try a test post, under "View All" it will display duplicated x the number of categories, even tho it has only been assigned to one category. My test page is at: http://www.fbcfamilylife.org/about_family/test/
3) Is there a way to disable 'respond'?

Yes, by just adding categories in your storage folder for the connector (or on the same page as the plugin if that is the storage), you should be able to see them listed. And the user should see them in the form. If you have changed the .tmpl for the connector, you may need to make sure the category markers are added.

For disabling respond...there is no way. The core functionality of the Connector is the Respond feature. You can make it so that you have to be logged in in order to Respond -- go to FlexForm -> Control tab and you will see "Require Login for Reply".

I could not bring up the test site to see the problems with duplicate items. Let me know when this is up and I can look at that.

I DO have the categories set up and did not, to my knowledge, mess with the .tmpl file (because I don't know how to !) But I still don't see the option of Categories in the CHC Forum Flexform...

What I said before is still true, however: the categories are not available as fields to choose to include in the user form... and they HAVE been set up...

But I am still seeing multiple entries for the same posting in View All.

Glad the categories are working now. When I checked it this afternoon for the View All issue, it looks like it is working fine now. Perhaps it was a cache issue or you fixed it. If you have any other problems, let us know.

The one way to remove the Respond for this connector is to edit the template file and remove the ###RESPOND###. You only want to do it for this section, not other Connectors so do not edit the wec_connector.tmpl directly. While we do not have a specific How-To for the Connector, you can look at the one for the Sermon Management System. It is very thorough and instead of wec_sermons, you can substitue wec_connector and where you see tx_wecsermons_pi1, you can use tx_wecconnector_pi1. This How To is found at:
