Subject: Bad Word Filter etc
msn
Is there a way to edit the default 'bad word filter' ?
We would like to add "http://*" so that nobody can post URLs...
Also...
Would even though we have checked "Require login for posting and subscribing" in the setup, users are still able to post without logging in... Would like to know if there is a way to troubleshoot this without completely reinstalling the plugin?

Hi Mary,

Yes you can edit the bad word filter. What I would recommend though is to upgrade to the latest wec_connector because it has additional Spam filter protection including not allowing links.

With the latest version (1.6.0 or later), you do that by going to the Flexform for the Prayer Connect and go under the Spam tab. You will find a "Filter word list" that you can add to. You could add "*,http" here. Also here you will find that one field is "Number of links allowed in post" and if you set it to zero, it will not allow any links which are actual HTML (<a href="http://www.link.com">link</a>). You can also turn off HTML tags or only allow ones like <b><i>. So the options are much better now.

If you still get a lot of spam, you can add a Captcha which will eliminate almost all spam then. It may limit posts though some because some people may be annoyed by it.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, let us know.

Thank you...I've never installed anything yet... so this is a bit scary...

Re: my other question: I've posted it now twice in two different places...and nobody seems to be responding...

I have actually tried reinstalling the plugin on a difference test page and it still does the same thing. I looked into the 'dontsetcookie' issue in the Install tool and this is set properly at =0

I really need to figure out what is wrong here...or we'll have to take the page down.

Okay... I've uploaded 1.6.0 and the Ext. Mgr. says it's installed and running; however, I see this message in the Ext. Mgr. Information:

Code warnings:
(developer-relevant) No XCLASS inclusion code found in file "pi1/class.tx_wecconnector_pi1.php"
The XCLASS filename-key "ext/wecconnector/pi1/class.tx_wecconnector_pi1_wizicon.php" was different from "ext/wec_connector/pi1/class.tx_wecconnector_pi1_wizicon.php" which it should have been!

The new connector seems to have taken care of the login issue...

that's good. And you can set the links or add the http to the spam filter.

As for the warning, that is known issue. It is nothing to be concerned with.

Let us know if you have any more questions or problems.
