Subject: tt_news won't display entire article
I'm quite new to WEC, so I'm guessing this is an easy problem to solve...
When I enter a new article in tt_news, the first five lines are displayed on the frontend. When I click "more" nothing happens. I can't find a setting to change this. What am I missing here?

Thanks!
Jon

Jon,

Is this within the standard WEC Starter Package or did you install tt_news yourself? Usually this issue is related to no tt_news single view page setup and linked to.

Hi Mark!
It's within the standard starter package. We hired RedRed design to modify a WEC template for us, but we haven't done much of anything beyond that.

Hi Jon

You should Setup/Create a siglepage-view:
- create a new Page
- insert the Newsplugin on the Page
- in: What to display > Selected> Single

- On Your Page where the Newsplugin is installed "normaly" go into the Plugin.
- FlexForm Configuration of Plugins > Plugin Options > Other Settings > PageId for single news display: Select the siglepage-view

Hi Manfred

I went to the flexform on that page but I didn't see a box for singlepage-view. The first box is "PageId for single news display:"

It was blank so I selected out news page. Now you can click on the "more" button or on the title of the news article, but nothing loads. It still displays the abbreviated article. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jon,

It should be set up for you already in the Starter Package, but I believe you need another page that is not in menu that has the tt_news plugin on it and it is set to single view. Then the list view page needs to have the single view page ID set in it.

Mark,

I set up the new hidden page with tt_news set to single (under What to Display). On the visible news page, I selected the hidden page (under PageId for single news display). Now I cannot click on "more" or the title of the news article. Before I could click on either but nothing happened.

Jon,
I'll just jump in here with a quick suggestions.

There's a subtle difference between hidden pages and not in menu pages (which Mark refers to above). Hidden pages exist in the TYPO3 backend but cannot be accessed from the frontend. "Not In Menu" pages are accessible in the frontend but don't show up in any of the menus. The only way you get to them is through a link or a direct URL. I'd double check to be sure you're using "not in menu" rather than hidden.

Thanks,
Jeff
