Subject: No Maps API
Hallo!

After setting the API-key in the WEC Map Admin, I get: No Maps API key has been set...
Tried with the pure API: ABQIA... and also with src="http://maps.google...

The key is the right one for this domain, in WEC Map Admin it displays:

Existing Domains
The Domains and API keys below have already been saved and are being used

Does somebody know a solution? Would be great!!

Andreas.

Andreas,

Please try clearing cache. TYPO3 does not know the pages where the plugin is located when you update the key.

Hallo Mark!

Great to get so quick an answer!
Iīm sorry, I tried clearing all caches and get same error.
What information could help You to find the failure?

Thanks, Andreas.

Andreas,

Here is a check list:

- Make sure your extension is the latest up to date version
- Make sure you have both the Map API and Simple Map static template applied to that page where the plugin is
- Make sure you have the API key entered via the map admin. It is easy to miss a few characters in the cut and paste
- Clear all cache
- If is still does not work, uninstall recently installed extensions that might be doing javascript tricks. There is also a possibility of a javascript error caused by some other extension that stops this extension from working.

If it still does not work then please e-mail me the user and password for your TYPO3 backend, and the web address too.

Andreas,

Do you have the URL for the site? Specifically, does the API key get displayed in the source code?

Hallo Mark, hallo Christoph!

Tried everything you wrote, but didnīt get it running. Maybe itīs a javascript error caused by another extension, didnīt uninstall everything.
Now I did it by pasting the example version of Google-Maps as a html. This is not as beautiful as the WEC Map but for the moment itīs a solution.

Thank You for helping!

2nd attempt - fat fingered the 1st ..
Hi All,

I installed the Map Extention, Applied for - recieved and installed the Map API via Typo3 WEC Map Admin and can view the map from within the TYPO3 backend ( View )

But, when I navigate to the page via a browser, I get the following error message.

Directions
No Maps API key has been set for the wec_map extension on this domain. Please make sure that you have set an API key either in the WEC Map Admin, or via TypoScript or Flexform. If you don't have an API key yet, you may obtain one free of charge from the Google Maps website.

I have deleted Temp Internet Files ( which is that the same as clearing Cache? Right? ) I am using IE7.0

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

In Him,

David.

David,

Are you sure the domain is correct? Maybe there was a typo when you got it from Google? I don't know what else it could be.
A URL may help, too.

Hi Christoph,

Thanks for writing.

First, let me say that yesterday I found the CLEAR CACHE "button" in the Backend and Cleared ALL! Still the same result.

Yep, the domain is correct; the site is www.perrycrossroads.com and I just re-requested the API, loaded it via WEC Map Admin - cleared the Cache - and same result.

Is it odd, that the map will show correctly from within the typo3 backend using the VIEW button and not when viewed via the WWW?

David
