It would be great if this had a couple more parameters like auto start and loop. Also if the files added were uploaded to the file-admin so the could easily be picked from that folder. As it is right now files added from the browse upload are hidden in the extension folder.

Andre,
Thanks for the feedback on the extension. I've got a couple followup questions....

For an autostart parameter, are you thinking there should be a possibility NOT to autostart? Both the Flash Player and Flash Presentation Extensions were initially designed for video, where you'll want autostart more often than not and where you probably do not want looping. For audio, this is a different story though and shouldn't be hard to add in the next version.

This one's a little more difficult. Currently, TYPO3 always puts files referenced from within a content element in a specific location within the uploads folder. In this case it is uploads/tx_wecflashplayer/. The reason for this is that TYPO3 thinks of these files as something close to database content, just like the text values you enter. Regardless of whether you upload the file from your hard drive or use the content browser to select it from fileadmin, it will be copied to the uploads folder.

We did investigate allowing a user to keep the files in the fileadmin directory, but this would have required the user to type the full path to the file rather than using a graphical interaface to select it. In the end, having a better user interface won out over keeping the files in an easier location

If you'd still prefer to have the media files come from the fileadmin folder, it is possible through Typoscript configuration. This type of thing is covered briefly in the extension manual and video, but if you have questions I'd be happy to help you set it up.

Thanks,
Jeff

I was using the audio and wanted the mp3 to autostart when the page loaded. I was looking at another flash mp3 player ext. that had this, but the footprint of the WEC one is much small and doesn't require a play list.

Woops, I was mistakenly thinking it did autoplay like the video does Either way, we'll try to get this added in the next version.

Andre,
Just wanted to let you know that autoplay support has been added in the latest version. Looping is proving a little more difficult due to the way the Flash is setup, but I'm still planning to get that into a later version.

Thanks,
Jeff
