I just tested it out with IE7 and FF2 and it works fine. There are a few issues that may be going on here:
- the RTE only shows up for Posts. These are usually in Blogs or Custom. If it is a comment, then it is likely you may not see it. Usually you have to be logged in. The reason we made this decision is that anonymous people could add images/etc in comments that are not easy to filter/moderate.
- plugin.tx_wecdiscussion_pi1.rteEnabled = 1 needs to be set. The default should be. Check your +ext template where you discussion forum is.
- what TYPO3 version are you using? It does not support v3.8.x
- do you have rtehtmlarea installed? Or are you using tinyrte? Currently, the discussion forum only supports rtehtmlarea.
Likely it is one of those issues. If not, I can look at your backend if you email me the BE login to try to diagnose what is going on.
