Our youth group is going on a mission trip and I've set up a forum/blog so they can share with the people back home what's happening. I want them to be able to include images, but can't figure out an upload method on the front end. Is that possible, or must the images be uploaded on the BE then inserted into the posting?

Hi John,
Are you using the Discussion Forum plugin or TimTab? For the Discussion Forum plugin, all you need to do is enable the fields in the Fields tab on the Flexform of the plugin. Then you can upload an image.

Hey, I was able to get the page set so that I can upload photos from the frontend. Thanks Dave!
However, the photos are being posted as thumbnails sized images. What do I need to make it possible to either click on the image to view in its original size (like what a normal thumbnail image does) or upload the image without creating a thumbnail?

Hi John,
I believe the image sizes are set using TS constants. Go to the Constant Editor and set the width and/or height. If you set just one, it will scale the other. I think you can set 100% too to allow full-size images. Plus you can modify the template as needed for placement.

Hi Dave I installed the wec_discussion
but the rte is not saving the images> 4.2.1 wec newest package. I changed the pastors blog to wec_discussion in Blog setting as it is much easier to handle then timtab and won't need the backend access.

Hi Andi,
We are working on a solution for this. The problem is that with the new security fix, it removes certain HTML tags. Unfortunately this is a difficult solution to try to balance security with features. Likely in a week or two we should have something.

Hi Dave
Perhaps another - even better solution than including pictures in RTE would be to combine the wec_discussion with rgslideshow and change the template in the way that those pictures get shown like in News on top right or left corner. Clicking on them will oben the slideshow toshow all pictures. So people could upload more then one picture without need to resize everypicture. perhaps even combined with rgmedia to insert even video content
Only an Idea.
If you are modifying / fixing wec_discussion it would be wonderful if you could get it working with recursive folders and their categories. tt_news is simply to complex and the frontend feature (incl. editing) you have is much better. We would like to replace the tt_news completly!
Thanks
and God bless you
