Subject: Cannot View Forum
I am in the process of setting up the discussion forum and have posted a test thread. Everything seems to work fine until you go to view the forum. The page comes up with this error at the top:

Warning: md5_file(uploads/tx_mmforum/attachment_10610eef1383f59b257597a5dbee5868.pdf) [function.md5-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/bin/wecsharedsource/typo3_src-4.1.6/t3lib/class.t3lib_stdgraphic.php on line 2298

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /usr/bin/wecsharedsource/typo3_src-4.1.6/t3lib/class.t3lib_stdgraphic.php:229 in /usr/bin/wecsharedsource/typo3_src-4.1.6/typo3/sysext/cms/tslib/class.tslib_fe.php on line 2952

The page seems to show below this, but it is straight text with no WEC template applied to the page or discussion forum template applied to the actual discussion.

It seems that the first error is giving me an error about uploading the PDF file that I did. But I am not sure what the second error is telling me. Any suggestions on anything? I'd appreciate ANY help. I've reviewed the how-to's and community with no success.

Thanks,
Gary

Gary,

Is it possible that the access permissions changed in the uploads directory for some reason? The "Permission denied" implies that TYPO3 is not able to read this file. The second error is caused by the first error.

Mark

Gary,
Mark and I did a little digging on this today and we were able to duplicate it on another site. It looks like the version of mm_forum that you have installed has a bug with the file permissions on attachments. In my test environment, upgrading to the latest mm_forum version solved the problem so I think that will do the trick for you too.

There were some template changes in the new mm_forum version so this might cause some issues when you upgrade. If you see any problems there, let us know and we'll help you work through them.

Thanks,
Jeff

Wow - that was easy enough! Thank you!

One last thing and I think this will be taken care of ... the graphics are not showing under Options>Email Notification is switched on or Options>This topic is not a favorite when you are actually viewing the posts. It is also not showing on the forum page on Go to last topic ... or at least it looks like an image is supposed to be there. It is showing the little white box with a red X in it on all of them.

Thanks again guys.

Gary,
This sounds like the same kind of issue I saw when upgrading the forum within the Starter Package. If you want to send me an email with a backend login I'll make the same updates on your site that I already have in the Starter Package.

Thanks,
Jeff
