Subject: blog features
Are there any plans to add more blog features. I've been trying to get timtab to work forever and just can't get the commenting working but the blogging features of DF a a bit limited.

If I was to try to switch would there be any way to move existing timtab posts (tt_news items) to df?

Hi Andre,

What kind of blog features would you like? We're open to suggestions...

We did add a way to convert timtab to wec_discussion format in the previous version. So that is supported if you do want to convert. Please read the manual for info on how to do that.

Dave,
I tried the conversion but I get this message

ALERT: No messages converted because the storage page to convert FROM (page ID =239) has no data. Please check that value and try again.

It found the categories but not the messages/posts. I have over 29 messages in the folder. What am I missing?

The biggest blog feature would be pinging to update sites like or pingomatic & technorati that drive blog traffic and trackbacks for links to other blogs.

Dave,
An update the conversion bdoes happen I checked in the backend and the messages are there. But I still get the no data error so you may want to check that.

Dave,
It would be nice to have the subject of the post in the BE not just an ID and if the post/messages could be inserted s records that would be sweet!

Thanks for the extension

I think it is essential to have a pagination (page browser) for the blog view. For example an input field to specify the number of blog posts (comments) to show per page with page navigation. I will set it to 10, meaning first page shows blog posts from 1-10, then clicking on page 2 will get me to blog posts 11-20.
Something that is implemented here: http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/extension-manuals/cag_pagebrowser/1.2.0/view/
But this is on a page by page basis.

What do you think?

Hi Darko,

That is an excellent idea. It would be helpful for heavily-used blogs. I will put it on the to-do list, and if it is easy, I can see about getting it into the next version. Otherwise, it will have to wait.
