How do you get the scripture to pop up on the devotional page. My version of Devo is 1.6.0, my version of ebible is 1.0.1.
Thanks

John,

Is eBible installed on your website and working on your website? Is it just not working on the devotional page?

Mark,
I have the wec starter package that we used in your seminar at Caraway. I am trying to build a demo to present to church.

Mark,

More data - In the Sermon extension the scripture link works. I can click on the scripture link and ebible will pop up and show passage. Also I am not sure how to insert scrip ref, is there a specific way. When I placed it in the box marked scrip in the devo content it placed it at the bottom of the passage but nothing to indicate it was something other than regular text.

Hi John,

I would recommend you upgrade to latest Devo ext. You can do so by going to Ext Manager->Check for TER2 Updates. If you have not done this, click on the Get Version Info from Online Repository button at bottom. Then click on the Devo name and it will allow you to upgrade to latest version.

I tested the latest version with the starter package and it seems to work fine. The only thing which you may need to do is if the Starter package does not not have the WEC eBible template in the home page or root of site, you need to add a static template there for it. But it sounds like your install does since the Sermon ext works.

Mark,
I updated the devo ext and now the content I had entered is missing, in its place is the message that I need to add "wec devotional journal template in the page template to see any output. How?

In all of our latest extension updates, we moved to static templates. This allows you to just have the CSS on the given page where the extension is, as opposed to being sitewide. This reduces the size of the CSS on each page as well as site-wide.

To add the static template, please follow these directions:

John,

As Dave mentioned, you need to add the Devotional-extension static template to the devotions page in order for the new version to work. And the same thing happens to be true of the eBible. You need to add the eBible static template to the root page of your website (the page that is a shortcut to the "Home" page). By adding it to the root page, all pages below will have the eBible feature added. Just add any scripture reference like John 3:16. There is no need to do anything else and the eBible script will find it.

If you are running locally, there is another option. Download the very latest version of the WEC Starter package version 4.1.6-1.0.0 from:

eBible is automatically installed and enabled on the new version.

Thanks, that did it for the devo and the scrip parsing. If I download the latest package will that remove everthing I have done to date for my demo to the church. Also I tried to update my sermon ext but it said I was running a version that was incompatible, (or something like that).

Would anything in the above action cause the photo gallery to guit working? Matt had worked with me getting photos to show previously and the photo gallery worked after his help. Any ideas about what is going on now?

John
