Subject: Personal Journal messages
Hello forum,

I am wrestling with WEC Devotional Journal's journal function.

I have read that personal comments can be attached to the front end, but somehow when a logged in user presses the save button his/her message disappeares and nothing else happens. I have checked the "tx_wecdevo_journal" table and found that the "entry" column is empty. Is it normal? Where shall I seek the encrypted notes?

Config:
Typo 3.8.1
WEC Devotional Journal 1.4.0

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Martin,

It sounds like you have one of several issues:

1) The journal requires someone logged into the Front-End. If the person is not logged into the Front-end (i.e., they go through the login on the home page or on a page frm the website), then the user cannot save their journal entry. This is not likely the case, but I point it out that some may think logged into the Back-End (Admin) and then they go to a page, they are not logged into the Front-End.

2) The URL is not setup right -- either with realURL or simulateStatic. You can check this by looking at the source code and searching for "journal_form" and seeing the <form ... action=" "> and seeing if that looks right. Perhaps this is a problem.

3) If Javascript is disabled, this would likely cause a problem in saving. Javascript needs to be enabled.

If your site is live or can be accessed from the web, I would be happy to look at it to further help you. Or send the source code from that page.

Please let me know if it is not any of the above issues, there may be some other problem that only by looking at the code generated,

Hello Dave,

Thanks for your comment.

The site is on the early stage of development. So, ...
take a deep breath. :-))

The problematic page:
http://agapenet.homeip.net:81/kezdolap/SOMETHING.34+M52087573ab0.0.html

1. Yes, I am also talking about a FE logged in user.

2. I think the url is ok.

3. I am logged into typo3 BE from the same desktop. Javascript is working.

GB,
Martin
