Subject: Easy Importing of data?
I know that this was discussed a while back, but if we wanted to get started by importing data into the devotional system, it seems that we have to copy/paste everything in one day at a time. Is there any other way we could handle that? Could backups be made available for devotions that are out of copyright such as "Morning and Evening" (assuming we went back to original text)? That would be a great way to get started with a simple devotional that we don't need to write and still have something valuable for people to reflect on.

Has any progress been made on that or are we just stuck entering one at a time for now?

Also, if it's more of an annual reading such as a "Read through the Bible" or "Morning and Evening", is there a way to setup those entries to recur annually instead of just one-time?

Thanks.

Right now, the Devotional system just supports adding data through the Backend. We could consider importing data, but it does not seem a very high need. If you know mySQL, you could create SQL inserts through phpMyAdmin.

Perhaps if a few users did the work of importing copyright-free devotionals, they could share them with others and we could develop a community resource.

The Devotional does support running on old data -- you have to set the original Start Date in the Admin tab of the Flexform. You can then run the same devotional over and it should track with the new year. I would recommend creating separate page for each year if you have any Discussion forum associated with it.
