I have the standard calendar on the new site. Instead of learing this one and then switching to Calendar Base, I decided to start with Calendar Base. Where do I download Calendar Base from? Do I go to Extension Manager to download. If so, I cant figure out the correct name of it to download. I am new with typo3 but am learning. Thank you for any help that you can give.

I usually hit the official repository at www.typo3.org. However, if your extension downloads work normally from within the TYPO3 backend, you can get it from there as well. Even better, you can get different versions easily.

The repository has an easy to follow manual for "cal" - start by reading that. Combine with some of the tutorials on the WEC site as needed (creating sysfolders, editing templates, etc). I'm pretty sure that the correct name for the extension is actually "cal", though searching for wec could give you some good results as well.

FYI, the current release of "cal" requires PHP 5. Make sure you have that before trying to run it. If not, you'll have to grab one of the releases prior to 1.x.

Be sure to read the manual before setting up. I'm still regretting some of my earlier choices with configuring the cal extension and am now trying to rectify them, if a little painfully. (Thanks for the hints, guys )

Overall, this forum is probably one of the best places to get support for the extension. There's a newsgroup/mailing list as well, but the WEC community has been really helpful for all things TYPO3 to me. They're also pretty patient as most of us muddle our way to some level of competency. (like me)

I seem to be having problems finding Calendar Base in the typo3 extension repository. I have went through all 500+ files three times and I am missing the calendar base each time. How is it listed in the repository? I know I am doing something wrong, I just haven't figured it out yet.

Hopefully, I can get the calendar to work this weekend.

It's listed under "cal". That should help you find it a little easier.
