Subject: Starting with Cal Base
I just installed the Cal Base extenstion on my site following the instructions for installation on the typo3.org website. Everything seems to have went fine and I have added a test event. When I view the calendar page, I get this error.
Calendar error: please configure the pidList (calendar plugin -> startingpoints or plugin.tx_cal_controller.pidList)

I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Gary

Ok, I have been playing some more and now have a different error message, but I have no idea what it means.

List View
Monthly View
calendar: no template file found:

Please check your template record and add both cal items at "include static (from extension)"

Any suggestions? Here is the actual link to my website: http://www.newhope-umc.org/news-and-events/calendar/. I'm lost.

Hi Gary,
Though my knowledge in this area is poor, it looks to me that you have not yet added the two static templates that are essential for calendar base to operate. I take it that you have filled in the calendar plug-in with all the information that you can think of, especially, the permitted views tab, which is the first in the list.

In the left hand column, look down until you come to Web->Template.
Select that default calendar page that you created as part of the Calendar Base installation. (I take it that you followed the Calendar Base how-to on the WEC website?)
From the Template Tools page that opens, click on the line that reads:
Click here to edit whole template record
Scroll down to the bottom of the dialog page that opens until (almost at the very bottom) you come to a list of templates. They are entitled
Include static (from extensions):

From that list click the following static templates:
CSS-based template (cal)
and
Default CSS styles (cal)
They should now be in the box to the left.

Save the template page by pressing on the Magnifying Glass icon to view the saved page.
You should now see a calendar of some sort? no?

I too have struggled because I did everything apart from add the static templates.

PS, there are "how-to"s on this website on how to add a static template and how to install Calendar Base. If what I say is unclear, then you check one of them.

Cheers,
Calum

That did it! You're awesome- Thanks. I remembered adding them during setup but for some strange reason I had added the two static templates for tt_news instead of the ones for cal. I don't know how or why I did it, but it is fixed now. Thanks Calum! I appreciate your assistance.

Gary,
When I look through this forum at the number of times and ways others have helped me, it gives me great pleasure to repay something to the community by sharing what I have learned. Glad it worked. I know how frustating it can be to be so near ... and yet so far.
Cheers,
Calum
