Subject: Typo3 Tryst
Hi everyone,
Although I realise that this forum is to enable people to solve problems or share solutions regarding the implementation of WEC-Typo3 web-empowered ministry, I wonder if there is any scope for an area or category of thread that deals with non-technical matters, such as folk from the forum meeting up in real life.

For instance, a week last Tuesday (8 July 0, my familiy and I were delighted to meet Manfred in Basel, Switzerland, where the Hungerlands received us very kindly. We were able to discuss some typo3 stuff, this forum and Manfred introduced me to an extension that he uses for database management, in which I also am interested. Whilst we saw much of the beautiful countryside, cities and, not least, Basel, meeting at Manfred's was a pleasant memory that will live on in our collective memory.

Thus, this forum was being thought about kindly in a very exotic location by people who have appreciated the advantages of typo3, WEC and the Gospel, though not in that order

Switzerland is a breathtaking country and the welcome that we received whilst on holiday there enhanced our appreciation of it and of the people who love the Lord. Had it not been for a shared interest in WEC-Typo3, that would have been icing on the cake that would not have been experienced by us.

Thanks to you all for making this forum such a blessing.
Regards,
Calum MacLeod

Calum,

Yes, this is the forum for anything that is non-technical. It is refreshing to see a post here. I hope this forum will become busier as time goes on.

Thanks for letting us know about your trip to Switzerland and meeting Manfred. Switzerland is a great place to visit. I recently presented WEC to a small group of church leaders and I told them that the thing I love most about WEC is the community. It is awesome to see God's people from around the world from different cultures, languages, countries, and denominations working together side-by-side for the Kingdom. I also talked about the unique bond that we have. Since we are Christians, there is an immediate connection even though we are so different is so many ways. Very cool! Thanks for your post.

In Christ,
Mark

Hi Calum

If you want to meet Lord's people in Thailand or southern Asiaplease let me know. I am in Phuket and would like to welcome you and your family in our community.

I think it is a very good idea what Calum is asking here. We really should use this place more and more to exchange also non TYPO3 stuff - as people who share not onlyTYPO3 and the word of God will understand more and more and form a big unity all around the world. One Idea - One World - A lot of friends :-)

God bless you Andi

Mark, glad to know that there is a place for articulating something of the fellowship we have in this forum. The bond of a shared connection with Christ does indeed transcend cultures and languages.

Andi, strangely enough, I was thinking about you when visiting the European HQ of the United Nations in Geneva and of the work that you do for that organisation. Geneva was where John Calvin was based and 2010 is the 450th Anniversary of the Reformation in Scotland. In the vicinity of the UN in Geneva is also where the World Council of Churches has its HQ and we were able to visit there. Unless my wife wins a competition though, the likelihood of my popping up in Thailand is fairly remote but thanks for the promise of a welcome.

Manfred is the first and only typo3 enthusiast that I have met in real life. It was a positive experience for me and one that increased my enthusiasm for typo3.

WEC Typo3 is providing an inspiring communicaton tool for church servants to communicate Jesus Christ. May it continue to flourish under God.
Calum
