Hi all ThaiPo3's in South East Asia
Starting March 11th - March 13th - UNESCO Bangkok and ABC-TYPO3 are holding a Special Workshop for TYPO3 Editors in Thailand (South East Asia). If you are also situated with your NGO, School or Church in Thailand then we would like to met you there. UNESCO Bangkok (www.unescobkk.org) is working with a standard TYPO3 and Hope of God International Churches (wwww.hope-thailand.org) just started in the South using the WEC-Package in an extended Language Version like the one the (projected-42) Rajaprajanugroh Schools (www.rajaprajanugroh.com) are using.

If you are interested to participate, drop me a mail please or phone via skype: lisandi.
We also would like to know a bit more about your function and organisation and of course your needs according the use of TYPO3.

The Spring-ThaiPo3 Workshop will be the starting point of more activities from our new SouthEastAsian TYPO3 Group :-).

If you are a church in Thailand and trying to build up a website, then also get in contact with us, as we would like to help you to achieve your goal as member of grat SEA Community.

God bless you

UNESCO Bangkok will host the first Thailand Typo3 User Group meeting on 11-13 March 2007.

Typo3, an open source web content management system, has a growing pool of users in Thailand. Several schools in the Phuket area have built Typo3 websites. The Hope of God International Churches of Thailand uses Typo3 provided by the Webempowered church based on TempleVoila. There is a forestry website maintained in Bangkok. We are sure there are others.

The UNESCO Bangkok website is created in Typo3 and maintained by a webteam whose members bring enthusiasm and new ideas to the look and functions of the website. We believe we are the largest Typo3 website in Thailand.

UNESCO Bangkok is delighted to host this first Thailand Typo3 User Group meeting. We are pleased to provide a space where Typo3 practitioners can come together to learn from each other.

Location: UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok, Thailand. Map here.

Date: 11-13 March 2007

Time: 10am – 4pm.

Language: English

UNESCO will provide refreshments and lunch.

The meeting is limited to 35 participants on a first come first served basis. Participants should bring their own laptop computer with them, preferably wireless enabled.

To register, send your name and that of your institution, address, phone and fax numbers to c.wing(at)unescobkk.org. If you have one, include a brief description of your website and its URL. If you require a halal or vegetarian lunch, please tell us. We can also book hotels for you.

Attended this first "TUG" Thailand event at UNESCO and learned here about your website and forum.

As a non-technical developer of two TYPO3 websites in Thailand I am glad to see your English-language support.

Also I think your WEC starter package is really great with your many standard features (extensions) - It is a really great help for people without technical developer skills in TYPO3.

It is a kind of pity though that you concentrate on Churches (religious websites) only - your starter package would otherwise be extremely helpful for anyone (non-techies) starting a website in TYPO3.

Joern,

If you'd like to use the Starter Package for non-religious purposes, then you are free to do that because it is all open source. But our mission and funding is only to support Christian Church and Minsitries. So that is where we need to focus our development and support.

In Christ's Service,
Mark
