Subject: Starting Out New
So I ordered VineHosting for the month. And have yet to download anything. The only thing that has happened so far is that money has come out of my checking account.

I will be home in about 2 hours and plan on getting a little bit of a head start on things this weekend.

Can anyone help me with the pre-flight checklist of what to do when getting started?

P.S. I assume there are people regularly surfing the forums on the weekend to help out right

Jason,

First, follow the instructions Vine sent you to install WEC. That will get you the WEC Starter Package quickly.

Second, go through the WEC Classes starting with WEC 101.

Weekend responses are not always super fast but someone is usually around.

I am having a problem with the temporary control panel VIne gave me.

When I follow these instructions:

Since you have signed up for a WEC Turn Key Plan, you will need to finish the configuration of the WEC software. In order to login to load your Web Empowered Church Software you will need to login with your username and password into the control panel using the link below:


Control Panel: http://www.cokesburymargate.org/cpanel or Temporary Control Panel: http://216.112.37.200/cpanel

Now click on the Software icon down in the middle of the page.

From here click on the Install WEC Software link. It is here you may choose the username and password as well as setup the Street address and email address to be shown on the header and footer of your website.


And go to the Temporary Site because cokesburymargate.org is still an active site with my old (but current until June) hosting company.

This is what I get when I put in my password and the name, address, slogan of the church and click "Install"

cPAddon WEC::CMS::WEC_Starter_Package
Done! You can access your new addon at http://cokesburymargate.org/newsite/ (http:///newsite/)

The user is ****** and the pass is *******

[WEC::CMS::WEC_Starter_Package]

[Main]


I think something needs to be changed in the settings by the support people at Vine???

Jason,

Well, you gave that address when you registered. As a result, the script assumes the web address you provided is correct. If you use http://cokesbury.vinehosting.com then you will be fine. Or you could also wait until you transfer your domain.
