Subject: /typo3/alt_doc.php could not be found
Hi

since yesterday i get this error message when i try to Edit a element, but only in the List-view.

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /typo3/alt_doc.php could not be found on this server.

I updated my installation also to 4.2.1 and after that it was working fine ( cache was cleared )

Had this Error sometimes also before, but only sometimes.

In the Newsgroup i found this ( but it was not helping )
mod_security analyzes urls and all that to block harmful ones.
Sometimes it also blocks legitimate ones, which will cause errors. You
can try putting "SecFilterEngine Off" without the quotes into a
htaccess file in your webhost root.

Any Tipps on this?
Shalom

Manfred,
In my experience, this error is always related mod_security for Apache. I would suggest checking with your hosting company to see if there are any ways to disable it.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for Your feedback.

Today i searchd a little bit about that in the Net.
My impression was: To disable is maybe risky?

Strange is just it was working....

Manfred,
mod_security definitely makes things more secure, but in all my experience the default rules don't work at all with TYPO3 (and I would guess most other Content Management Systems). If your host is willing to work with you, the rules could be tweaked for TYPO3 but my experience has been that most people just end up turning it off.

Thanks,
Jeff
