Subject: Local Template
Hi...we have just started using this wonderful system and are hosting through Vine Hosting. We created a local template file, using the directions found in another post. The new directory was correctly added and the references to the new template file added per the instructions.

However, when we refreshed the cache and tried to view our site, it is still pulling the template info from the default template location.

I would appreciate any insight that can be provided.

Thanks!

Hey Eric,
One quick question for you to get the debugging process started....

We created a local template file, using the directions found in another post. The new directory was correctly added and the references to the new template file added per the instructions.

However, when we refreshed the cache and tried to view our site, it is still pulling the template info from the default template location.

Did you make changes to the HTML file, the CSS file, or both? Changes to the CSS file should show up immediately but there are some extra steps needed to make HTML changes show up. If it is HTML that you're changing, we can walk you through that

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks, Jeff.

The only change we made at this point was to swap out the image file for the header. I downloaded the file, edited it, and saved it with the same name. This is the only change that we wanted to make for the template (at this time).

I appreciate the help!

Hi Eric

you have to do this in the BE:
- Go to the TemplaVoilą Menu ( on the Left )
- Go to the Storage Folder( in the middle )
- on the right You see now >> TemplaVoilą Control Center
> There you should see one or more Warning(s)
> Click on the Templatename where the Warning is shown.
> Click on [ Update mapping ]
> chose Header Parts and press Save and Return

Clear all caches and don't forget the Browsercache.

Manfred...thank you for the response.

I performed every step that you suggested. We are using "Amoreira - 2 Column, Blue" as our template, but the warning message was for another template. Regardless, I updated the mapping, but when I view source from my browser, it is still pointing to the original template.

When I go to the TempoVoila Control Center, I can scroll down to the TempoVoila Template Object, where it is showing a reference to our local table for the "Amoreira" template.

Let me point out again that we are hosting this site through Vine Hosting, if that is part of the problem.

Thanks!

Hi All....

Thanks to Mark and the Vine Hosting Support team, our local template is now operational. I am not certain what change was made, but if anyone else is having this problem, please refer to this thread.

Thanks!!

Eric,

As I remember, we did this:

1. Click on TemplaVoilą at the left.

2. At the right under the heading "Page Header" click on the words "Storage Folder." This is the folder where the TemplaVoilą Template Object records are stored.

3. Scroll way down to where the template thumbnails are and find the template you want to modify. Notice that there are some templates that have different numbers of columns and you need to find the exact one.

4. Next to the template you want to update, click on "[ Update mapping ]." The mapping is how TYPO3 knows where to insert content into an HTML template. You are not changing the mapping, but we tricked TemplaVoilą because we moved the files. So we need for it to go re-read those files and update its data.

5. In the row of top buttons, click the button labeled "Mapping."

6. Click the "Save and Return" button at the bottom. This will cause TemplaVoilą to reread your files and to update its internal data. Specifically, the path to the styles and other files will be changed to what you changed in the TemplaVoilą Template Object.

7. Clear all cache (at the lower left for TYPO3 4.1.x and the top for 4.2.x)

In Him,
Mark
