OK, it's late and I'm a bit tired, so please forgive if this is addressed elsewhere. I am praying this is a quick fix and someone will be kind enough to point me in the right direction between now and the time I get off work tomorrow.

url of our church site will be: http://www.ctkconnection.org

This is the error I get when trying to add the wec_starter database during installation:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 446403 bytes) in /home/connect/public_html/t3lib/class.t3lib_install.php on line 654

This is the result of wec server check

David,
Sounds like we may need to bump the available memory up a little so that the database can be imported properly. If you look at the main directory where TYPO3 is installed (/home/connect/public_html/), you'll see a file named .htaccess. You can add the following line to the top of this file.
CODE:
php_value memory_limit 48M

This should increase the available memory and let you continue with the Install.

Hope that helps!

Hey Jeff,

I tried this, and unfortunately no luck and received the same error. I did notice that in the .htaccess file uploaded with the WEC package the very last line has the same but lists it as 60M.

When I used php info to look it stated that my memory_limit was 128M, so I have no idea where to go from here.

I have been researching WEC and purchased the book last week and am hoping to make the switch from Joomla CMS that I normally use. ANy other suggestions, or anyone willing to give it a go on the server would be extremely welcome

Hi David - use the wec_servercheck and post the result. This might help o find your problem. OR - probably much faster - simply install the WEC_SERVER PACKAGE and compare all settings with those.

Hey Andi,

I posted the server check in my original post, did you want me to post it again?

If I install the server package here on my local computer, can I transfer files from here to my server without using the normal install procedure? I was planning on installing the server pack to my computer for testing anyway, but since my hosting is unix, I wasn't aware that would help the actual install procedure to my server.

Interesting. Any chance you added this on your own at some point because we do not have this line in the Starter Package.

This is also interesting, because the server check script claims that there's 32 meg of memory and thats what the error would seem to indicate. Not sure what would cause the discrepancy.

If you want to contact me via email with login details on your server, I'll be happy to take a look at these issues.

Generally speaking, its easier to just do all your work on the server, but its not that difficult to develop locally and transfer the work later. Its really two main steps..
1. Transfer all the files (TYPO3, templates, images, etc) from your computer to your server via FTP.
2. Create a SQL dump of the database contents from your computer and apply that to an empty database on your server.

If you need some more details on those steps later on, we can certainly provide that.

Thanks,
Jeff

Kerry,
If you can still get to the Install Tool at mysite.com/typo3/install/, we can probably work around this. You'll want to go to the All Configuration section of the Install Tool and scroll about halfway down until you see setMemoryLimit. Set this value to 64, which will double the available memory for PHP. Save the changes and you *should* be back in business.

Thanks,
Jeff
