I went to a recent workshop with Mark Stephenson and felt like I had a good handle on understanding the backend for WEC/Typo3. I recommended it for my church and they purchased the annual package with Vine Hosting. We were told at the workshop that if we used Vine Hosting, WEC/Typo 3 would already be installed, but when I type in http://www.southernpineschurch.com/typo3 it says the page does not exist. So, I figured that I might have to install it anyway. I have been reading the getting started documentation and I keep hitting a brick wall. It says to go to southernpineschurch.com/cpanel and login, but when I type in the URL, there is no login - it says the page does not exist. So, I logged into our account via Vine Hosting and logged into the cpanel there, but there is no link that says SCRIPTS. I finally looked under Software & Services and found a link to the WEC starter package there. I installed the WEC Starter Package and it said that I can access my new addon at my web site. Simple question - How do I access it? I am trying desperately to find that backend interface that Mark showed us, but it is eluding me. HELP! It looks like there may be some domain name issues with southernpineschurch.com since the domain name isn't loading at all. I'll pass a note along to the guys at Vine to make sure they're aware of it first thing in the morning.
In general, we can help you with issues once TYPO3 is up and running here on the forums, while Vine Hosting is the contact for any problems with the server before TYPO3 gets involved. They keep an eye on the forums here, but you can get quicker responses by opening a ticket in their helpdesk at http://www.vinehosting.com/clientcenter/index.php.

I have been working unsuccessfully with trying to 'go live' with our new website. I have the domain name with the prepaid 1 year of service, but when I try to log in the page it can't be found. I was just wondering how you were working with it now. If you have been successful, or were still trying. I too went to a class with Mark Stephenson, thought I understood it. Maybe your learning will help me.

If you are hosted at Vine then you should have received an e-mail with instructions. You need to run a simple program by clicking on it to install the WEC Starter Package. Then you will be ready to start editing your website. Please let me know via direct e-mail is there are any issues with that.

The guys at Vine had to adjust some things on their end for mine to get going. The other problem is that I never received the initial e-mail since it went to the Minister of Education at our church instead of me (he is the main account holder, but I am the main administrator for the web site. I had asked him to forward all the e-mails to me but I guess he missed that one. I actually found it by logging into my Vine account and clicking "My E-mails". Just keep posting your issues to the forum, and I'm sure the guys will get you up and running in no time!

How do I remove the "sample" names like Philip Duncan? I don't see these listed anywhere in the backend as an element. I would also like to remove the "Sort by" box.
I would like to add a 4-line caption underneath each photo (name, position, e-mail, phone extension), but it is only allowing one line.
I want it to look like our current staff page with 2 columns: http://www.fbcsp.org/staff.html I tried inserting a TABLE element, but I'm not sure how to tell it which image goes in which table cell. How do I do this?

It looks like you are using regular content elements instead of the staff extension. I recommend using the staff extension. To edit the staff records, go to the TYPO3 backend, choose List at the left, click on the Storage Folder title in the page tree, and then scroll down to find the Staff Info table. There you can change the sample staff records to match your staff.
The other option is to go to WEC Config unde Manage Add-On Features and uninstall the staff extension. That will get rid of all the staff extension stuff.
I believe that the caption only supports one line of text. Another approach might be just to enter this information in the rich text editor. But I think you will like the staff extension best. Then you can include a bio and other information.

Thanks for your prompt reply. At first I was a little lost since I clicked on the icon and not the TITLE, but then I realized my error. I was able to successfully change some staff records and added another. However, they are not showing up on the Staff Directory page. They had been, but then I went into the main component page to delete the data had a input before through the "regular content elements" mentioned in your e-mail. However, I must have deleted the wrong thing, because now the Staff Directory is not showing. I do see that the staff records I put in the Storage Folder still exist - I just can't see them on the actual page. I went into the WEC Config and noticed that it was unistalled, so I installed it again and refreshed it, but they still don't show up. How do I fix this?
