Can someone please recommend an adequate hosting service for the common configuration? I think Vine hosting is too expensive. I had applied for an account with IMHOSTED, but they won't call me back or reply to my e-mails. So, I have had to cancel before I even got started. Being relatively new to this arena, I am at a loss as to where to get hosted. Any suggestions as to who would be a good site to host with and would also be adequate for a church site?

So, hosting companies can't safely put as many websites on one server. If you find hosting for $5 or $10 per month, then please look out. Content Managment is a different class of hosting.

I am with Imhosted and I am happy. Quick and very good support. Don't write them eMails, betteer go directly to the LIVE support and pose your questions there. Thats what I always do and really recommend. They are working with ICQ, so simply put your ICQ on, contact them and then you will here when the get back to you. Normally it takes about 15 Minutes or less Only one time it was about 30 Minutes with me!!! In my eyes really quick. They are working round the clock in shifts. In my eyes Imhosted is worth the money you pay for it, because of the very good and fast support. BUT don't install Typo3 from Fantastico and afterwards put WEC on - Takes to much time and you have to much to configure manually. Better use the complete WEC Package and everything is working fine! They have also shared SSL for free! If you want to include a shop or an SSL communication line.

I am happy to report that I have hosted our site with Vine. They have been extremely helpful in getting our package up and running. I set up our account online and they installed the WEC common configuration soon after that. It can be seen at http://www.redbankumc.org. I have been working some in typo3 on the backend of the site, but I guess for a standard configuration, the site has the potential to have a tremendous amount of functionality. I am way down on the learning curve with respect to typo3 and website stuff in general and therefore anxious to learn more and go forward with this ministry. Thanks to all for the comments concerning hosting and I look forward to working with everyone in the future. Keep up the good work!

aimI am building sites for two churches and was looking at some of the referrals here. I noticed, that while imhosted offers a lot, they would be prohibitive for one of the sites I'm creating. They want to post sermons in mp3 format and imhosted strictly prohibits mp3s on their servers. Abundant Media seems to have a lot of bang for the buck, but I find absolutely no restrictions there and am afraid of what other clients may be hosting on their servers. Vine Hosting seems to be very well geared for WEC Hosting, but cost a little more. I like their statement of faith, but see no specific restricions. I see a lot of folks going with Vine and was curious about their response time with the clients.

I had applied for a domain name for my church with Vine Hosting. I spoke with one of their people about hosting our website with them. I really don't think their fees were that expensive.Also I was told they were going to start a WEC users group in the PA/NJ area.That would be very good because TYPO3 and web site building is all very new to me.
