I have been trying to get typo3 up and running - I have accomplished most of the straight typo3 "stuff" (I *think*??), but am stuck getting it running for subdomains. I can get the configuration going if I install straight into the root; I want to be able to install into subdirectories/domains (typo3 source in <doc root>/cms and the site file structure (/typo3conf, /typo3temp, /uploads and /fileadmin) in <doc root>/install1, <doc root>/install2, etc.
I have been over and over the documentation and it appears this should work? I would then have to open <ipaddress>/cms to configure and build each site that would be stored either on the same server as ../install1, ../install2 or on another server.
To shorten my question, is this workable file structure/system for the typo3 installations? I have a nonprofit who needs a small site (gratis) after I finish the church and I want to have the ability to add small site(s) for these folks, no muss no fuss, since the work isn't paid.
