Upgrade TYPO3 4.1 to 4.2 - Step 1 - Check Your Server PHP Version

For Version: TYPO3 4.2

TYPO3 version 4.2 requires PHP version 5.2.0 or higher. PHP is the scripting language used in TYPO3. PHP is installed by the web server system manager. Please contact your hosting company if you need to upgrade PHP. Previous versions did not require this newer version of PHP. You can check the PHP version of your server using these steps:

  1. Go to the TYPO3 Install Tool at PutYourWebAddressHere.org/typo3/install
  2. Log in with the Install Tool password.
  3. Choose option "8: phpinfo()."
  4. Scroll down the page until you see the large PHP logo. The version should be listed right below the logo. You want version 5.2.0 or higher.
