Backend User Accounts

Tutorial:Backend User Accounts

Enable, Disable or Remove Backend Accounts

For Version: TYPO3 4.1.1

As people working on your website come and go, you can easily enable, disable or delete backend user accounts.

  1. Click User Admin at the lower left. Scroll down. On the list of Backend users, the blue icon indicates a backend user account with full administrative privileges. the green icon indicates limited privileges. The icons to the right of the usernames that look sort of like light bulbs allow you to enable and disable accounts.
  2. Click on an icon containing a red circle and a minus sign to disable an account. When an account is disabled, the settings remain but the user cannot login to their account.
  3. Click an icon with just a light bulb to enable the account. When you click on the icon to enable or disable an account, the screen will refresh and the icon will change. The change to the account takes place immediately. Note: The two additional icons to the right of the trash can icon allow you to switch to that account as if you had logged in to it. The green icon switches totally to the other account. The red icon gives you the option of returning to the administrator account.
  4. Click the trash can icon to delete an account. Click OK to complete the process of deleting the backend account. After you delete an account, it will be permanently removed from the list of backend accounts.
