Devotional Journal Extension

Tutorial:Devotional Journal

1. Adding the Devotional Extension to a Page

For Version: Typo3 v3.8/4.0; Devotional Journal v1.2+
  1. First we create a page where the devotional journal will go. You can select wherever in the page tree that fits. In the Starter package, we put it under Learn & Grown section.

  2. You can fill in the fields for the Page. We will name our Devotional, "Devotional" and put the alias as devotional too. Then we save the page.

  3. Then we will create the data storage folder. The storage folder is where all data for the Devotional is stored. This is recommended to be a separate folder because a lot of information can go here. You can however set the data folder to wherever you would like.

To create it, you will select "Create new record" icon and then choose Page (inside). Then choose the Type as SysFolder. We will name ours "Devotional Storage Folder". Then save this record.

Once that is done, then the Devotional Journal extension will be added. In this tutorial, our pages are build with TemplaVoila and so we will click on the Page(TV) action.

  4. Then choose "Create new record" in the Main content area. Scroll down and find the WEC Devotional Journal element and choose that.

  5. You can now fill in the fields for the Header to name this for reference in the Backend. If you do put a Header, you can choose the Type as Hidden so it will not appear on every page.
