Add a Sitemap

There are a variety of maps and menus you can add to your webpages. In this how-to we will look at a variety, including site maps and menus to subpages.

1. To add a map or menu, begin by using the Page Module and then selecting the page on which you want the map or menu.
   
   For this example, we will add a menu of sub-pages to the About Us page.
2. Next, select the Create New Element icon in the location where you want to add your menu/map.
3. Now, select Sitemap from the Special elements section.
4. As with all Content Elements, it is good to give it a Header, even if you don't actually want it to show up as a title on your webpage.
   
   In this case, we'll add a Header and then choose Hidden in the Header Type (sort of a "Note to Self").
5. Now we'll select the kind of menu or map we wish to add to our webpage. 
   There are a variety of menu and map options. Let's look at some of the options beginning with the sitemap.
6. A sitemap is a listing of all the visible pages on the site, complete with a link to each one.
7. After you've made your selection, make sure you save your work. In this case, we will click the "Save Document and View Page" icon so we can see the results of our work immediately.
8. Notice that the site's pages and subpages are visible. However, pages that are Hidden or Not in Menu are not shown in maps or menus.
9. Next is an example of a Menu of Subpages that includes Sections.
   
   (Bullet and Table Content Elements positioned as the top Elements on a page are displayed as Sections.)
10. Next is an example of a Menu of subpages with abstract.
    
    An abstract is a brief description of a page. You can find out more about page abstracts in the how to "Understand the Advanced Page."
11. Finally, is a Menu of subpages. It simply lists (with links) the subpages.
12. Whatever changes you make are viewable on your website as soon as you save your work.
