WEC-TYPO3 Server for Mac

This install file is designed for rapid and easy installation to support WEC/TYPO3 testing and learning on your Mac. It contains a fully-functional web server with the WEC Starter package pre-installed and ready to run.

The installation contains:

• Apache 2.0.59
• PHP 5.2.3
• MySQL 5.0.41
• TYPO3 4.1.3
• WEC Starter Package 4.1.5-1.1.0
• Note: ImageMagick is not provided for image manipulation, but is planned for future releases.

The web server software and packaging is based on MAMP, which stands for Mac, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

This installation is designed for personal use on your local computer. It is not setup or secured for use on the public Internet as a public web server. Please do not use this installation as a public web server. Also, this installation does not support e-mail features such as user registration and prayer messages.

System Requirements:

• Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or higher
• Approximately 500 MB

To Install:

1. Click on the "WEC-TYPO3 Server DMG File" link at the bottom of this page to download the dmg file to your desktop. 
2. Double click on the dmg file icon to briefly mount the disk image and to reveal the contents in the Finder window.
3. Drag the folder named MAMP to your Applications folder. The files will now be copied to your Applications folder. This may take awhile. Once the file-copy process completes, you can eject the mounted disk and optionally delete the dmg file to save disk space.
4. Installation is complete!
   Note: The software will only run in the Applications folder and the directory name must be MAMP. If you'd like to keep multiple versions then you will need to rename them to run them. This is a limitations of the MAMP software.
   

To Uninstall:

1. When the WEC-TYPO3 Server is not running, go to the Applications folder then delete the MAMP directory there.
2. That's it! This install does not create any special installation files and does not modify your system.

Running and Stopping:

1. Navigate to the Applications folder.
2. Go to the directory named MAMP and run the application named WEC-MAMP.app. The MAMP Control Panel will display as shown below.
   
   
   
   
3. You can use the buttons at the right to start and stop the Apache web server and the MySQL database server. When the MAMP starts, your browser should also start and will show the website from the WEC Starter Package.
4. Below are the web addresses, usernames, and passwords.
   
   Website: http://localhost:8888/
   TYPO3 Backend: http://localhost:8888/typo3/
   Administrator - username: admin and password: wec
   Simplified Administrator - username: basicadmin and password: wec
   Simplified Content Editor - username: basicuser and password: wec
   Install Tool - password: wec
   MAMP Startup Page: http://localhost:8888/MAMP/ (not typically needed)
   
   
5. Even though you may exit your browser, the server will continue to run on your computer. When you are done using the server you should click on the Quit button on the MAMP Control Panel.
